How to write a poem for your wife

Husbands, show your wife how much you love her, by writing a poem.  This How-To Guide will walk you through each step to the finished poem. Let your creative writing juices flow, and compose the special love poem that will speak to your wife's heart.

Instructions
Step 1
Decide what you want to say in your poem

The first step on the way to the perfect love poem, is to decide what voice your poem will have. You can choose to be lovingly humorous, or opt for a more traditional, romantic poem.

Step 2
Make a list of the special things you love about your wife

This list will be your springboard into writing your poem. Write down in point form, the special things you want to say to your wife. What qualities does she have that you can use in your poem?

Step 3
Start your composition

Now that you have decided what type of poem, and have the list of your wife's special qualities as a guideline, you are ready to start writing your poem. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't flow at first, just get your verses down and worry about editing when you are finished.

Step 4
Edit your love poem

Read your poem carefully, and edit out or add words as you feel necessary. Now is a good time to run spell check. You are almost finished at this point. Your poem to your wife does not have to be perfect, it just has to tell her that she is loved.

Step 5
Presentation

Your poem to your wife is complete. Now you will need to transfer it to pretty writing paper. You can write your poem in ink, or type it in your word program and print it. The presentation of your love poem will be the icing on the cake for your wife.
